Bologna is strategically located being a natural crossroads for the European motorways and railways and with daily domestic, international and intercontinental flights linking it to major cities in Italy, Europe and the rest of the world. The airport is only 7 kilometres from the city centre and an excellent integrated transport network ensures swift easy access to anywhere. Moreover, it is only at short distance from famous artistic cities such as Ferrara, Ravenna, Verona, Venice, Florence and Rome. It is placed at the southern end of the river Po valley plain at the feet of the hills which mark the start of the Apennines. The Adriatic sea lies just 80 kilometres away.
To find the relax that most of us need, quite in the city-centre, both in very luxury galleries and elegant streets, one can find the top Italian brands. Moreover, every Friday and Saturday, still in downtown, there is the flea market with all kind of items (antiques, clothes, shoes, etc.)
All makes Bologna a focus of social and cultural life. Its people are hospitable and enjoable, as any visitor will discover, however short its stay in this town renowned for its excellent cuisine and exuberance.
